This June Alex Sonata & TheRio will mark their return and confirmation on the UK based imprint with their first, incredible solo EP. Later this summer on August 14th, the duo is set to make their live debut at the legendary Ministry of Sound Club in London for a sold out ABGT 450 Afterparty, cementing their presence within the Anjuna family.

The two-tracks work opens up with the dystopian, retro-futuristic touch of “Are We Dreaming”: a mesmerizing piece of music that embodies the ultimate manifesto of Sonata & TheRio’s iconic techno-trance crossover. An hypnotic arpeggio guides the listener’s unconscious to the exploration of dark and mysterious places, held up by pounding drums and an enormous bassline. Your mind has now gone completely numb as the beat flows into the tense breakdown, where an ethereal voice from an unknown future insinuates the doubt that nothing of what surrounds you is real and it’s all just a figment of the imagination.

On the B-side, “Higher” brings the sunshine back with a glorious, soul-lifting piano break infused with auspicious vibes and light-heartedness. Exhibiting faith and confidence, the second track of the EP stands out as a festival anthem for this new summer of love and makes the perfect soundtrack for the soon to come, long awaited renaissance.
