Aly & Fila feat. Chris Jones - Running Out Of Time Review

Through ‘Running Out Of Time’, Aly & Fila give us a sneak preview of what’s to be expected from their upcoming album.  And by doing so, they raise high expectations. Zak Rush reviewed it for TrancePodium.

I began listening to the Original Mix of Running Out Of Time with my notoriously 'single-minded Trance hat' where I figured Aly & Fila would bang out yet another 140BPM anthem. Pleasantly surprised, Running Out Of Time started with a very electronic feel with almost icy pads, leading you on as if the A&F wanted you to forget whatever they had done in previous productions and make you focus on their new style. As the drums dropped out, the guitar melody faded in and the bassline joined in, the track bursts to life with a hard kick, dirty bass and epic pads delaying into either speaker making your head sway from side to side helplessly. Already the track had drawn me in and I hadn't even got to the vocals. Then Chris Jones opened up with his longing vocals that fit the track so well. Especially notable are the vocals in the breakdown as high notes alongside the guitar provide the great anthemic tones a breakdown should have. Then the drop hits and the pads take back over with vocal chops as the progressive beats and arena pads have you closing your eyes and naturally moving your body.

The Uplifting Mix, part of the package, provides the classic 140BPM I was expecting and delivers everything you'd expect from an Aly & Fila classic. You have the big pads, pumping bassline, cheeky acids and Chris Jones singing the best I've heard him so far in his career.

If you like Aly & Fila for everything they've done so far, there is no reason as to why you wouldn't grab this release right now. As for anyone who doesn't follow them, this will make you want 140BPM until you drop.
