Review

Twice In A Blue Moon was a great album for Ferry, with many a great track and several that really got blasted by many a DJ, we now get our hands on the remixed version of this and give it a go in the iPod.  This album is chock full of stunning remixes from amazing producers such as Solarstone, Markus Schulz, Sied Van Riel, and Lange.  I really liked the original album, and had high hopes for this remixed version.

We start off with a amazing remix of Shelter Me by Rafael Frost.  The original was a nice intro to the album, with a relaxed beat and slightly dark elements in it.  Rafael has turned up the BPM a bit and added some lovely harder elements to make this a great introduction to the album.
The drive continues with a more kicked up version of Black Velvet, which carries a nice remix and is done well.  Once again the BPMs are turned up a bit and there are nice elements added that make the track something that any DJ would not have any problem adding to their playlist.

Tracks three and four I was really looking forward to, as they were remixed by two brilliant producers, Lange and Solarstone.  I must say they did not disappoint.  I found my self repeating both tracks, especially Lange's version of We Belong.  When you listen to this track, its just got such nice elements to it.  Its definitely a driving track, with a wonderful breakdown.  Lange really did a great job.
Following was Solarstone's version of Gabriella's Sky.  Beautiful track here.  Euphoric sound, something that Solarstone is very good at, excels through this track.  Bits of synth bubbles, pads and lush elements make this one of those tracks that quickly becomes a top tune.  It really is that good.
The following two tracks were the big hits from the original album.  The Heartbeat remix of Made Of Love is good.  I think I prefer the original better to it though, not because its boring, but because I really felt the original and it just was a great track.  This is not saying the Heartbeat remix is a bad thing, as it really fits the album nicely, and is a good production.
Radio Crash is another one of those hard tracks to follow.  It was easily one of my favorite tracks last year, and once again, I think I prefer the original better.  Ummet Ozcan really did a nice job on the remix though.  The Remix has a more tribal feel with a nice flowing beat and good breakdown.
The following four tracks are really good.  Remixes from DJ Eco, Ashley Wallbridge, Patrick Plaice and MarLo all sound excellent.  They add a depth and style variance that really did not exist in the original album.  the styles range from the harder side, to the uplifting vocal.  I believe my personal favorite of the four is Ashley Wallbridge's remix of Feel You.  this track stands out and has that nice vocal/piano mix that we all love. MarLo's remix of Brain Box is really good as well,  especially while driving your car on the highway.  Energetic with a pounding baseline and driving synths, never a bad thing.

Up next is Sied Van Riel's remix of Shanti.  This is a massive track, and I would not expect any less from Sied.  I will be adding this to my record case, and will definitely drop this track.  This track is one of those that when played out, makes everyone get on the floor and work for 6 minutes.  Pulsing bass, driving lines and high energy.  This is Trance in its dance floor glory.

The last track is definitely not a slouch either.  Markus Schulz takes the reins and delivers a storming remix of this track.  If you were expecting the normal Markus plate of progressive beats and dark sounds, you are at the wrong dinner table.  What you will find is a harder bass line, edgy synths and a nicely done main hook.  This is another "add to record case now" track, and I am sure will get some serious air time from not only Markus himself, but from others.

Overall the album is a win.  Every track I find myself liking and I have listened to the album many times already.  Never finding myself skipping a track, I think the album gets a solid spot on my iPod, and will be played frequently.  If you enjoyed the original album, then this is a no brainer.  If you did not like the original, then pull up iTunes, or Beatport and give the previews a listen.  I think you will be impressed, and if at least, purchasing a few tracks from the album.
Overall the album gets a solid 4/5 from me, and I can definitely recommend it to any trance lover.
