'The Track That...' with Ferry Corsten
Not an interview for a certain reason this time, but just because he's one of the greatest trance DJs ever. We are proud to present you the 24th episode of our exclusive 'The Track That'-series with no other than: Ferry Corsten!

The track that I wish I’d produced is...
That’s a very hard question, because I don’t really listen to other productions with the idea of “damn I wish I did that”.

The track that could make a grown man cry is...
Time by Hans Zimmer. When I heard it live during his concert in my hometown Rotterdam it was just the perfect execution of an orchestra coming together. The way the song builds up from just one instrument to this big ensemble of musical power only to end on the first instrument again is so beautiful. I think there were about 15.000 people at the concert but at the final notes of the piano playing in the piece you could literally hear a pin drop, everyone was just in awe of what was happening.

The track that never fails to put a smile on my face is...
The original Blade Runner score from Vangelis. I still play it in my car from time to time.

The track that I’m playing at every gig at the moment is...
Remember by Saad Ayub, that big synth hook is just mesmerizing. Saad is on quite a streak recently, happy to have him on my label.

The track that isn’t electronic dance music, but rocks all the same is...
Nils Frahm – Says. I’m very into these emotional tunes lately, some call it Electronic Classic. This tracks builds so so well and when the full melody comes in at the end, wow.

The track that shoulda been in a movie is...
A World Beyond & Lonely Inside from my Blueprint album. They’re very inspired by movie scores actually in terms of arrangement.

The track that is so perfect in its original form it should never be touched by man nor remixer is...
With the risk of sounding a bit cocky, any of the Gouryella tunes I think. They’re all made with a certain philosophy behind it, and I’m too much of a perfectionist to let anyone take a crack at it.

The track that changed my life is...
System F - Out Of The Blue. I could not have guessed the impact that tune would have had on my career. Everything took off after that one.

The track that I’ve just put out there is...
I would have to say my Blueprint album. The journey that led from “I want to do another album” to the final result was something I will never ever forget and will always cherish. It was such an amazing experience to work with some of the best singers, writers, designers to get this album together.
