'The Track That...' with M.I.K.E. Push
For the 20th episode of our exclusive 'The Track That'-series we have another legend: M.I.K.E. Push. Enjoy.

The track that I wish I’d produced is... ‘Visage – Fade To Grey’, a track I grew up with in the 80’s that played a big role in what I do today. So many great sounds coming out of it. Original & bold, Steve Strange earned himself a one hit wonder. Sometimes music is so good it has that effect.

The track that could make a grown man cry is...
This one’s not a dance tune. ‘VNV Nation – Illusion’, the lyrics complete this beautifully crafted piece of music. You have to hear it for yourself. A burst of emotions. The lyrics are so deep. Emotions play a big part in a lot of the music I produce. Every single track I’ve made has a unique story behind it so I can appreciate these kinds of raw emotions incorporated into a song.

The track that never fails to put a smile on my face is...
Straight from my youth era, ‘Liaison D – He Chilled Out’ is still fun! Not sure many will know this one. It falls into the Electro Body Music genre that was a huge influence in the Belgian 80’s synth pop scene. Many of us who play a big part of synth-music production might know this one!

The track that I’m playing at every gig at the moment is... Tiësto - Flight 643, a track that has everything from trance to a bit of techy element. Always sends the dance floor ablaze. Good era. :)

The track that isn’t electronic dance music, but rocks all the same is... Depeche Mode - Personal Jesus. Leading pioneers of synth pop music. Coming from the 80’s and still making it happen to this day. Obviously many of their tracks rock da house, but I can definitely enjoy good vibes to this.

The track that shoulda been in a movie is...
Very interesting question. A lot of times when I hear certain songs, I do picture a movie like scene in my head. I’m sure many of us do. Creativity never stops. And one track I can picture being played in a more dramatic movie scene is my very own Musix ‘Do Ya See The Light’.

The track that is so perfect in its original form it should never be touched by man nor remixer is... Push - Universal Nation. The amount of remixes and remakes I’ve heard is unbelievable. When I produced this track in my old studio back in Belgium, I never - in my wildest dreams think it would create such a long lasting buzz! I still get requests all these years later.

The track that changed my life is... ‘Just Cant Get Enough’ by Depeche Mode. I heard this on the radio when it was first released, back in the early 80’s. I remember thinking how cool all the wild sounds were and how I could recreate that on my own. It was like my calling. I needed to get hands-on. And here I am, doing what I believe I was born to do with great pleasure and passion.

The track that I’ve just put out there is... My recent collab with Robert Nickson ‘Tachyon’. Where there’s chemistry there’s success. And this collab has been a great success of ours. We finished this rather quickly. Combining each others sounds. And voila, a release everyone appreciates. Thanks for the immense support from our fans. Expect a followup! :)
