'The Track That...' with Sied van Riel

Tim Stark from Stark Profiles PR has started a serie called 'The Track That...' which he will do exclusively for TrancePodium. It features artists naming and talking about certain tracks that had a fundamental impact on their artistic lives. In the 1st episode: Sied van Riel.

The track that I wish I’d produced is DJ Eco’s ‘Alonism’. This guy is able to create an atmosphere in his music that is wholly unique. He’s hugely underrated. Genius is not too big a word.

The track that could make a grown man cry is Kiss ‘I Was Made For Loving You’. This is an extremely personal as every individual has different feelings, thoughts and emotions when listening every track.  ‘I Was Made For Loving You’ puts a lump in the throat everytime and Tiesto's remix of ‘Silence’ has a similar effect!

The track that never fails to put a smile on my face is Sneijder’s ‘Remember Me’. Classic sound and hits the all the right keys at the right moments. Nothing but love for this track.

The track that I’m playing every gig at the moment is Aly & Fila - We Control The Sunlight (Spark 7 Remix). Proud to say that A&F gave me this as an exclusive for my new, just trackd Rielism 2 album. Booms in the biggest of rooms!

The track that isn’t EDM, but rocks just the same is Prince’s Purple Rain. It's not a secret that I am a big fan of 80s music. I listen to it a good few times a week.

The track that shoulda been in a movie is Protoculture's ‘Talisman’. It would fit a dark epic Hollywood blockbuster like a glove. I can almost hear the narrator’s voice in the background giving it some moody exposition!

The track that is so perfect in its Original form it should never be touched by man nor remixer is John O'Callaghan & Full Tilt feat. Karen Kelly - Breathe… Not sure if there are remixes of that track as I've only played the Original track this year in a lot of sets, but that track just blew me away. When I dropped it in Minsk for ASOT600 the pretty much came apart! Perfect in every way.

The tracks that changed my life were Evolution feat. Jayne Hanna - Walking On Fire (Bedrock’s Remix), Matthew Dekay - Beautiful Monday, Carl Cox - I Want You, Bart van Wissen - Illuminate and System F’s Solstice

The track that I’ve just put out there would be my new baby ‘Rielism 2’! After a long period of mix-comp silence I was finally ready to get Riel on the second edition! It includes a lot of new and exclusive tracks on there, many from my own studio. Following that I’ve got the vocal version of my ‘8 Decades’ single coming up that I did with Adina Butar on the song. Matt Davey made an awesome remix of it too. The vocal edit is a different version then the Original mix, so I’m very much looking forward to seeing people’s reactions to that when its let out of the cage!
