Three recent releases on Bonzai Progressive
The last couple of weeks, the legendary label Bonzai Progressive came with 3 great releases: Kabalo with 'Waiting For You', 06R with 'Air 2.0' and 'Philthy Chit with 'You And Me'.
Kabalo - Waiting for You (Bonzai Progressive)
Kabalo debuts on BP with "Waiting For You", the track comes backed up with two quality remixes.
The Original Mix is a step into the deeper end of progressive with a brain churning bassline that cuts right into your mind as it pulsates a hypnotic rhythm. Tight drum patterns and percussions provide a flowing rhythm over a slow, drawn out vocal. Sweeping synth pads bring up the rear while a hint of a melody teases from the distance. Huge sound on this with the bass being the main focus.
Australian DJ and producer Audio Noir is first up on the remix with his Rekonstruction. Audio Noir is fresh off the back of his latest effort "Transfagarasan Highway" and he has lots more remixes and his projects lined up which will prove to be an exciting future. The remix takes the original and injects a huge amount of energy, a tough throbbing bass takes over while the synths give only the slightest melody, this contrast keeps the track firmly within the progressive sphere. On the break things take a turn with a soft choir like vocal coming through over that edgy bass and sweet arp before getting right back to a full on prog monster, superb stuff.
Rise And Fall are next on the remix roster, their last outing "Imagination" was well supported all over. The remix intros with classic kick and sub bass combo, the track builds on percussions and a brilliant main bassline. The original vocal is used very well and fits perfectly. In full effect this track rocks, the bassline just rolls along and the synths are at just the right level to keep you wanting more. A tough edged progressive stomper that will pick up a lot of attention.

06R - Air 2.0 (Green Martian)
Tokyo based producer Hisataka Ogura aka 06R returns to Green Martian with a true progressive stomper and a follow up to the original "Air" from 2012 which featured on Paul Oakenfold's Flouressence Essential Mix in July 2012. "Air 2.0" comes with four remixes, two of which are from outstanding artists.
The Original Mix intros with a real summer vibe, cool breaks and a rich vocal sample with a melody of guitar sounds lead us up to a deep droning bassline. The breaks build anticipation and when the four/four kicks come through the track explodes into a smooth and powerful terrace tune. The break produces a wealth of melodies and will get you right into the spirit of the moment. Loads to listen for on this with its myriad of sounds and a track that is sure to get a lot of attention, the perfect summer groove!
Blufeld is first up on the remix, this guy is churning out quality stuff on a regular basis. Not long after his third studio album and plentiful remixes, we see him apply his awesome style to this stunner. Utilising the original vocal for the super smooth intro before the tight kicks take over. Slightly tougher edge here with a gritty, punchy bassline thundering through the sound. On the break the track delivers a raw, organic sequence before getting back to the groove where a superb melody comes through giving stark contrast, awesome stuff yet again from Blufeld.
Melbourne based Narel aka Nick Simmons is fresh off the back of his last release on LCD Recordings "The Machines Where Dreaming" with his Warm Air Remix. A much deeper vibe is evident here as the bassline seems to dominate, and what a bassline it is, it winds its way through the groove effortlessly mesmerizing your mind. This is coupled with stunning arps and very subtle melodies which light up the track, another great summer party tune fit for any gig.
The 4 On The Floor Mix is the original without the breaks on the intro for those DJ friendly moments.
The Breaks mix is one of those tracks that would be THE perfect soundtrack to a setting sun anywhere in the world. A feeling of euphoria sweeps over you as the wall of sound cascades over your body bringing a complete sense of being at one wherever you may be at that time, quite brilliant!

Philthy Chit - You and Me (Green Martian)
UK based production duo, Philthy Chit aka Phil Taylor & Chitra Kumar deliver a simply stunning cut with their track "You and Me". The track comes with two top class remixes and is a perfect match for the Green Martian imprint.
The original mix is filled with emotion and innovation which is exactly what these guys love to instil into their sound. Very subtle intro with a nice mixture of percussions that builds to a cool solid kick. You get a sense of deep house until a rising pad leads us into a warm, cosy piano melody which brings the track firmly into a progressive groove. The bassline wraps this track up perfectly, ever so subtle yet highly effective due to the melodic flavour, the accompanying vocal adds a dreamy element while on the break more sweet sounds fill the waves before settling back into a fine musical moment.
The impressive Blufeld is first up to the remix plate. Blufeld is a regular contributor to the Bonzai sound with his own unique progressive ventures and this remix is right up there with some of his finest work. This remix has a much more rigid edge as the melodies have been beefed up and the bassline has extra weight added. A superb kick and percussion arrangement provides a flowing rhythm which steers the groove towards a trance vibe. The break is something to behold, that bassline coupled with quality synth work and a subtle melody will have the power to captivate any audience, stunning!
The exceptionally talented Manu Riga is up next with his Morning After Remix. Manu is another artist who is contributing heavily to the Bonzai sound. He recently released his latest single "Reborn" along with Nico Parisi and already it's performing very well at download portals. Manu's remix fits perfectly with this release as he too allows emotion and innovation into his vibe. The surreal intro leads up to quality kicks with minimal percussions, superbly crafted distant pads sweep by before a cool plucky melodic sequence comes through. The break throws up a twist with a wonderful piano backed up with distorted sounds and some absolutely amazing FX work on a vocal sample, brilliant!
