Welcome to TrancePodium 2.0!

We have launched a new version of the site. Read this article to see what cool new features we added and how to activate your old TP account.

The new version of TrancePodium has been in the making for quite a while now. We have been working heavily on thinking about cool new features we could add and implementing them in the past several months.

First, we'd like to inform you that you must reactivate your old account before you can log into the site. This has to be done because we couldn't port the user passwords to the new site due to them being encrypted. Activating the account is very easy. Just click here and follow the steps.

Now, let me overview the main features of the new version of the site:

New Design

We dropped the old design and came up with a fresh new one. We think the new one is more related to the theme of the site, as well as more clean and simply looks better. We hope that the purple is not too much for you.

Front Page

We revamped the front page of the site. With the old layout we had, there wasn't much room for different modules. Now we have complete freedom and lots of space to add anything we feel is front page worthy.

User Profiles

The new user profiles will enhance the social experience of the site. The profiles show the recent forum activity of the user, events that they are attending, as well as their favorite artists, labels, releases, etc. Please note that you must reactivate your account before you can log into the site.

Forums

The forums are similar in layout and functionality to the old ones, because we know having to get used to new changes is not too pleasant. We removed some features that were unnecessary and not used a lot, and made them more simple and easier to use.

TrancePedia

The TrancePedia is the biggest new addition to the site. It is a user-built database containing information on artists, aliases, events, venues, releases, tracks and labels. It is basically our own trance database which every registered user can edit. I will go over the main entities, explaining them in short, even though they are self explanatory:

Artists

This part contains information on the artists, such as full name, birth date, nationality, biography, and a list of all their aliases and groups the artist is a part of. Please don't confuse an artist with an alias. You will not find any info on releases, tracks or events in here. To give you a quick example, Tijs Verwest would be an artist, while Tiësto, Allure, Gouryella would be his aliases.

Aliases

Every artist can have several aliases, so we figured it would be better to separate them. The alias page will contain information on releases the artist has released under the speciffic alias, as well as their upcoming events.

Events

The event pages will hold information on the name, venue, date & time, and the complete line up of trance events. You can also set your attendance status for the event, and see who else is attending.

Venues

The venues section will list trance venues from all over the world. You can check a venue nearby for upcoming events.

Labels

This section is dedicated to the record labels. It will list their contact information, as well as their release catalogs.

Releases

The release pages will hold detailed information about the release aliases, label, release dates, track lists with track previews, and download links.

Tracks

Tracks pages will displlay credits for the track, releases it is featured on, mixes the track appears on, lyrics, as well as audio and video links if available.

Bugs, Suggestions and Feedback

That sums up the main features of the site. Feel free to start looking around and trying things out. If you find a bug, or notice something not working as expected, please either send a private message to an administrator, start a topic in the suggestions & feedback forum, or use the contact form to report it.

We'd also love to hear what you think about the site. Post a comment in this article's discussion topic and let us know how you feel about the change.

There are still many features waiting in line to be implemented on the site. The development on TP definitely doesn't stop here. We will be actively working on adding new features in the upcoming months, so if you have any ideas, we'd love to hear them.

Enough introduction, start exploring!
