Tom Kehlenbeck, alias R33, was born in Brookhaven, New York. Today, both Orlando, Florida and Stockholm, Sweden serve as his home bases.

R33 started getting into the Electronic Music Genre around 1992. He would listen to the local radio station in Tampa, FL every Saturday night to hear the latest that was being played in clubs. For several years, he only knew what existed on the radio. Living in a small town, there just was not that much influence of EDM of any sort in the area. In 1996, he moved with his family to Ormond Beach, and finally received his first visit to a real record shop.

In 1997 he met up with Corey Pryor of “The Newsboys” and became close friends. Corey introduced him to Drum and bass, and the underground scene.

In 1998 R33 started doing his own productions. They went well, but it felt like he was missing something. 1999 rolled around, and after getting his hands on a friends set of decks, he relaized he loved moving the vinyl. R33 started to DJ shortely after, and has loved every minute of it.

“My main love about the whole thing, is the music itself. Music can touch someone in so many different ways, and its great to see the many reactions it produces. I too am moved alot by the music, and i mean alot. It’s such a wonderful feeling.”

In 2009, R-33 started the “An Electronic Reality” podcast. This has allowed him to reach a new audience, and spread his love of music even further.

He is also one of Trance Podium's elite DJs. When the site was first established in 2006, he was selected to be one of the online community's administrators. Since then, he has made excellent contributions to the site by DJ mixing the site's annual Top 20 as voted by its members, and keeping the spammers and illegal links at bay.
