Hey guys here is my new track "Through Hell To Heaven". This is a very uplifting trance song with some great prog riffs as well. There is also a very great breakdown with some modern trance sounds. Tell me what you guys think. I have improved on parts that you guys have suggested before such as when remedyz told me that more FX leading into a breakdown would better my songs!

So give it a listen and tell me what you think!

I listened to it earlier. That's a really nice melody you have. It's kind of dreamy. I wouldn't mind maybe remixing it sometime. Wink

Trancing since 1987.

Wow, thanks man! That's what I was going for. I really wanted to go for a more melodic uplifting melody that is not so common in my more prog house tracks.

Made a club mix to just make it more mixable and adjusted the mixing and mastering for the track. Let me know what you think! Although I probably won't change it because of the clipping headache this track has been!

The main lead is great, I love the melody, but the track doesn't seem complete to me.

Try adding more sounds, a richer bass-line, harder kick, effects and what not.

This definitely has potential.

Thanks! The kick is in there really loud. I actually had to lower it because it was clipping like crazy and sounded like crap. I think its just not a quality kick sample. So idk, endless battle lol. But yea I really like how the song gets going there too!

Thanks! I think as more ideas come along I will add to it. But for now I'll just let it sit as is. I do agree though. I think everything is good as is but I think it needs a good trance arp. That's what is lacking in this track imo. So if anyone has any good VSTs holla!

Decided against what I said above and made the kick a little harder! I think I just need a crispier kick though. Kind of like the Daniel Kandi or No2 style kick. That and a good arp.

Regarding the kick Vic, just a tip, compress it 8db @ a ratio of 4:1 with a low attack + release. That's generally how Kandi gets his kick loud (too loud in my opinion), make sure it doesn't go into the red though. Wink

Listening to it now, it has a nice start, dunno whether it's just me but I think the clap sounds kinda cheap and a bit tacky lol. Try adding some pads in on the intro part as it sounds quite empty atm and as Marjan says a more powerful bassline could do better here. The part where the melody comes in with the plucks is really nice, an underlay pad here would be really nice; maybe choral based? I like those sort of vocal sounds that come in however.. once it gets going it defo needs something to increase the pace, try altering the bass perhaps adding some more drive to the sound if that's possible. Also some Hat loops would be good on the main part. Once the arp comes in with the higher plucks it sounds pretty nice, the melody is great here and really it could be a nice track with some changes. EQ isn't bad either. Smile

Thanks Ben for the detailed review! I don't really like the beginning either and like I stated before the track doesn't really get going until reMedyz fav part at 1:33 Smile But I think with a synth or better VSTs I could really add some nice pads and baselines but atm that's not possible Crying

I would really like to hear what you have to say about Enough Is Enough though! You might have heard this track before but I think it is actually better than this track and is my personal fav.

Thanks again!

Ok, today I did a complete overhaul on the track and I think I can truley call this a club mix now. I think this is the best I can make the track and I think you guys will like it a lot more now.

I re-did almost all the percussion except for the break beat.
I completely re-did the first minute and a half.
Took out claps and added what I believe is a more trance like percussion.

You guys have really helped me out on this track and so I thank you for taking the time to listen and provide critque. If anything it has made this track better!

Thanks!
