Maybe I've been listening to the wrong tracks for the year 2008 but it has changed a lot since I first listened to my first trance compilation back in 2001. I find that I have listened to tracks that had a lot more quality back during the start of this decade. I don't find many of such tracks these days.
Hopefully 2009 Trance would be a better year for what I listen to. From listening to the compilations I have spanning 2001 until 2008, it seems there has been a decline towards cheesedom. I don't know why but the trance music that's supposed to be trance has certain elements that's very distracting from the trance experience, like maybe the too common female voice I hear on vocal tracks. Maybe I just don't like vocal tracks lol.
But there you go. It has been quite a different perspective for me, perhaps it also reflects the bad choices Galaxy Records Philippines makes (they're the biggest electronic music label here, I think. They seem to be the main distributor for things like this). Perhaps also says much how different a scene we have here right now.
Castamara (Jonas Steur) Home and Dry [Blank and Jones Remix] (Pet Shop Boys) Variance (Caramba) Strange World (Push (M.I.K.E.)) Angel Eyes [Club Mix] (Mario Lopez) - I don't like the trite voice of the vocalist here, though.
