Alexander Ivanov (Alexander Daf) —  is a young and talented musician from St. Petersburg, one of the most interesting sound producers on the russian chillout/downtempo scene.

Being 22 years old Alexander was already released on such labels as Sutemos (Lithuania), Sentimony Records (Ukraine), Laverna (Italy), Pitch Music (Russia) and many others. In 2008 Alexander signed a contract on releasing his album with System Recordings – the biggest American record company which works with such stars of the world electronic scene as James Holden, Miss Kittin, Josh Wink, John Digweed, Sasha, Christopher Lawrence, Dieselboy, Adam F, D:Fuse etc.

“A Thousand Reasons To Be” is an adult work of genuine quality comprised of 10 little masterpieces. Every track here is a beautiful story with its own mood, atmosphere and unique sound. Arabic tunes, Eastern percussion, endless landscapes of multi-layer melodies – these are only a small part of those "thousand reasons” to listen this album.

Track by track:

The A.R.T. Conspiracy - Random Positions on the Plate
Well behaved psychedelic soup made from full fat groovy bass, chunky cut leads, sliced dark wobbles and a side serving of psychotic pads.

Asimilon vs Parasense - The Most Bizarre Aspect
Starts light and fluffy, building into massive psychedelic FM leads combined with reptillionic squiggles and Soviet squelches to provide a smooth style track with heavy jagged elements.

Illegal Machines - Bimba
A classic Illegal monster! Fairytale beginnings give way to bleeps, squeaks and intelligent tweaks blended into full-power hard-core French psychedelia.

Parasense - Do The Job (Illegal Machines)
Illegal remix of the huge Parasense track; breathing new life into an old classic - The Job has been done!

Psymmetrix - Dire Straights of Conciousness
A track of 2 halves, we weren't sure about it either until the break. Mildly Marmitey Schizo-Gemini Trance.

Shotu - Seeds
A cascading track that sets you up for it's massively energetic leads with elements of nature surrounded by the lead filled mountains. Non-radioactive nuclear trance from France!

Psymmetrix vs Illegal Machines - Clean Saffi Machine
Straight out of the Anglo-French exchange student program this problem child has been tossed across The Channel more times than Manu! Dark and fidgety like a hyperactive magical iguana that just ran out of Ritalin and won't let you rest.

Dirty Saffi - Senile Dimension
High energy clean psychedelia to last you out of the retirement home. Hard fast night-time Psy for people who like it up-front and outside.

Spyrallus - Eye of Daruma
Fresh from Down Under; wonderfully arranged paranoid psychotic Aussie Koala mayhem! It builds & builds & builds intelligently kilometres high and rising!

BSM Crew - Alcoholic Fingers
The end product of locking everyone in a Russian Room full of Vodka, Fags and no Hash. Orbiting the Moon with bouncy and bionic ever-changing ideas. Putinka Power!

Review on CD:
Mental Suggestion is the second long awaited album by well known Moscow duo Manifold. Again Edward aka Cybered and Alexander aka Sulima prepared for us something special and very powerfull on effects. They have spent long time researching of how to deliver people to parallel worlds from outside our galaxy straight from the dance floors they’ve performed at. Listening to this album you will get an invaluable experience of travelling to mystical dimensions using fullpower psychedelic sonic vibrations craftfully presented by Manifold. Are you ready for this?

Nearly 3 years have passed since Manifold’s debut album called X-Ray Attraction was released. During this time the project got further fruitful development. Their new album is a result of huge work on combining together different styles and techniques for creating music: ranging from hypnotic techno to GOA melodies, from energy of electro to aggressiveness of darkpsy. On this CD Cybered and Sulima also mix influence of different periods of development in electronic music - all drawn from the best and well-forgotten old one, but with a fresh intelligent approach in making arrangements. As one of trademarks Manifold always use latest technologies in sampling and sound synthesis, and not forgetting about the "fat" the old analog equiment. Mental Suggestion brings 9 absolutely new and charged with "full power" energy tracks. You will defenetly mark massive nighttime stomper "Sadist", mystical melodies in "Doom", involute story of "Spiral", free night flow of "Cowboy Whistle" as well as many other surprising moments. For sure this is an album that not to be missed by any serious psycheldelic trance lover!

Review:

SunStation Records proudly presents Pan Psychic’s epic debut album, We Are Not Who We Are. Formed in 1999 by Alexey Kravchenko and Georgy AKA Geo, Pan Psychic became the first trance act to emerge from the Russian city of Saint Petersburg. They have played at numerous parties and festivals over the years, sharing the stage with some of the finest artists of the genre. Since Pan Psychic was founded the line-up has changed; Geo’s long-time friend Ivan Fedorenko joined after Alex left the group in 2006. Geo has also collaborated with the Ukranian artist Shytan (O. Bojczuk) on two tracks from this album.
We Are Not Who We Are is a collection of the “best and most popular” songs composed by the group from 2002 to 2007. Many of the older songs have been remastered for inclusion on this release. The style varies from track to track; you will hear dark and dirty night-time blasters, hypnotic old school Goa trance, melodic full-on, and deep chill out on this release. The album comes to a close with a remix of a song by a famous Russian band that has allegedly become the unofficial anthem of the Saint Petersburg trance movement.
This album is licensed under the Creative Commons and is free to share. We hope that “We Are Not Who We Are” will become a pleasant gift to all trance fans around  The excellent cover artwork is provided courtesy of well known russian digital artist E. Kiselev. Finally, this album is dedicated to the memory of Nikolai Kobzar (CAPS).
