So, only 4 months in 2008, but there have been many great tracks released and I think we have enough tunes to choose from. What are your top 5 so far?

Here's mine

1. Mike Foyle - Pandora (The Blizzard Remix)
Magnificent tune by Mike Foyle, and even greater remix by The Blizzard. Can't get enough of that piano. Definitely the best tune I've heard this year.

2. Orjan Nilsen - La Guitarra (Balearic Remix)
This tune is nothing but pure emotion. I get goosebumps every time I hear that riff.

"I'm sad to announce that on the 16th of December '07, I lost my big brother (Ernst Ove Nilsen, may you rest in peace...) This I dedicate to Ernst Ove Nilsen, my late brother, as it's a direct result of his death. I made the melody as I closed my eyes and thought of the good times we had. So this melody has both a piece of me and him in it..." - Orjan Nilsen

3. Akesson - Perfect Blue
Bjorn Akesson is an outstanding producer, and this track proves it. Hope we hear a lot more from him in the future.

4. Simon Patterson- Smack
Simon can't miss. Another floor stomper by him.

5. Georgia - Ode To '99
This tune has that beautiful old feel yet it sounds fresh and great.

Judging by those tunes, 2008 is going to be a great year.

Defo been a good year for Trance so far this year. Personally my top 5 are:

Akesson - Perfect Blue (Bjorn's tracks have been amazing that have come out so far this year. Hoping that more material is made soon.)
Armin van Buuren - Imagine (Armin's album is a very good one and a huge step forward from Shivers. This opening track reminds me of the diversity of Rush Hour. Brilliant.)
Paul Miller - Galaxy (Paul Miller has released a lot recently and judging by this track we know why. A really nice melody with a superb bassline. His other track with Manuel le Saux called EnTrance is also another Trance bomb.)
Orjan Nilsen - La Guitarra (A brilliant, emotional track from Orjan. Both mixes are top Trance.)
Andy Blueman - Time to Rest (Couldn't forget Andy Blueman. This track is AMAZING. So emotional and so Trancey. Probably neck and neck with Perfect Blue for being my fav track so far.)

Not sure what my top 5 would be but that Martin Roth remix of Miracle Cure is my favorite right now. Metaverse is definitely my favorite album of this year. Not sure if that came out at the end of last year though...

I have never answered these topics. The reason is that it's just to damn difficult! Tongue I download a new release almost daily, and I like to think that all of them are great!

And if I have to choose... I still can't! hehe

This was a tough one for me, so I will name 5 of many records that I have like so far.

Records will be listed in this format.

Artist - Track (Mix) - Album - Label under license to American Label.

I like them all equally

ok here it is

1.  Ernesto vs. Bastian - Thrill (Album Mix) - Authenticity - Be Yourself Music
I love how they combined an atmospheric feel with a factory sound on this one.  This is one of my personal favorites off their new album.
2.  DJ Antoine - This Time (Klass Remix) - This Time CD Single - Global Productions GmbH under license to Ultra Records.
An electro house track with awesome electric guitars.  This is one example of a type of music I like called "ROCKTRONIC".  They have been playing this song a lot in clubs as of late.
3.  Ferry Corsten - Brain Box - Brain Box CD Single - Flashover Recordings under license to Ultra Records.
This track I used in a DJ mix last year.  I love the part in the middle.  It sounds like one of my old Nintendo games.  Such good times.....
4.  Ben Parker - Sundown
Awesome track from Ben Parker!  This track is a must have for those who love the beach!  With his awesome production skill, he is sure to hit the top in NO TIME!
5.  Ayumi Hamasaki - Glitter (K-KLUB Remix) - Guilty - Avex Entertainment Inc.
I have been a fan of Ayu's since "EVOLUTION".  I have four of her albums and I use a lot of her tracks in my sets.  This track is my favorite one off of her new album and with a remix by K-KLUB, you can't go wrong.

There are more but I will describe then if I could have a second turn......

Indeed a lot of great tracks released for these five months , ended up to be a pretty hard decision , i added a few honorable mentions as well.

Top 5 so far, in no particular order:
Ferrin & Low - Westworld (Cold Blue Remix) - a great uplifter with divine chopped vocals, as some of you know im a sucker at chopped vocals, this remix outpasses the rest of the EP, wonderful driving melody and breakdown
Glenn Morrison - Blue Skies With Linda (Original Mix) - i believe this is his best work up to date , smooth progressive track with great synths at the middle of the track
Eddie Sender - Maya (Original Mix) - as much as i like great pumping beats , i like the oriental feeling of this track, some weirdo sounds coming out and a massive breakdown, wonderful track
Leon Bolier - Ocean Drive Boulevard (Original Mix) - if someone released a real floor destroyers this year, then it is with no doubt Leon Bolier , the track is the biggest source of energy released this year
Ernesto vs Bastian - Thrill (Cliff Coenraad & Thomas Hagenbeek Repimp) - these two guys i consider to have the biggest balls around , remixing a classic floor killer into some dark/deep proggy stuff which eventually grew on me and im loving it ever since. Weird approach, awesome deep melody, interesting breakdown

honorable mentions:

Ernesto vs Bastian - Thrill (JOC Remix) - infinite ammount of energy
Leon Bolier - Ocean Drive Boulevard (Joop Remix) - awesome deep approach by Joop, epic breakdown
Orjan Nilsen - La Guitarra (Balearic Mix) - its not the track like its the history of it, wonderful guitar nonetheless
EDX - Premiumline - thought EDX can just remix, but this track prooves different, great progressive
Simon Patterson - Smack (Original Mix) - floor killer, huge bass, bulldozer#2
Markus Schulz ft. Departure - Cause You Know (Mike EFEX Dub Mix) - the melody rips through me, mindblowing
DJ ECO - Mouth Without a Voice (Original Mix) - my fav. american producer, didnt disappoint here , great melody

Vaguely in order (to put into strict order would be way too much work.)

1)Off the world (Gareth emery remix) -Alex Bartlett & Martin Roth (still listen to this loud since i first heard it off a youtube video)
2)Ocean Drive Boulevard -leon bolier (makes me fly every time)
3)Back to you - dj shah (loved who will find me, this one could use a bit more vocals, but the melody is incredible)
4)Hold on to me - avb (every time i listen to imagine i get a new favorite off it, this is probably the one i go back to the most. i just picked it up yesterday and it is a hell of an album)
5)How does it feel - ohmna (just really like the song lyrics, vocals, and melody, but cant pin down exactly what it is that puts this in the top 5)

honorable mentions

la guitarra - when i first heard it i went insane and listened to it a lot for the next week, then it became sort of overplayed considering its been on almost every asot since its debut

pjanoo -really great upbeat track, probably the first pryda track i've really liked

the metaverse album (the tracks DJs dont play) i don't really care for gods garden or slowmotion or masochrist, which is what people seem to be playing off it, i know some tracks on it are kind of old but they're still really good, free dreams is one of my favorites on it, along with a lot of the web bonus tracks

Going wrong - theres a mix in asot 346 thats labeled as 'Dj shah's magic island remix', but the one i bought is missing some stuff in the asot version, anyway i really like the entire release but that mix is something extra special.

crash and burn (dj shah mix) - really dug this when i first heard it, but its playcount has been less as of late *shrug*

something for your mind (guiseppe ottavianni remix)
tour de trance (manuel le saux remix)
the w&w tracks
akesson - sunchaser
oh and ata - blue skies, dont really understand why this isnt a hit, but then again, i dont really understand why perfect blue is a hit and sunchaser isnt *shrug*

okay so that's a ton of tracks and i haven't even mentioned a lot of really great tracks that have come out this year. its been an exceptional year so far for trance, but hey, name a year that wasn't awesome for trance. even out of the blue made 1992 (i think) a great year for trance on its own

(p.s. sorry for using 'a lot' a lot)
