Hey guys.

While digging around, I found a website that calculates how much money you will REALLY make from albums sales and gig tickets.  Keep in Mind that this is after the mastering has been done, the equipment has been rented out, etc.
http://gigcalculator.com/index.html

Just input the costs in the given field and it will tell you how much you would make from an album or ticket sales.  It also tells you how many units you need to sell to break even.

Honestly, I thought that as an electronic musician, all you had to do was just make songs, burn it to a CD, submit it to labels and, after they think it's good, put it out there, but it turns out there is WAY more to it than that.
Now known as Randy Derricott. I may sometimes use the DJ Ranz alias for certain projects though.

Hey Randy, this was what I used to tell you before (that was probably a year ago) when we chatted about my interest in starting a record label. It is pretty much exciting. It would also be probably a lot easier if you've got a trustworthy accountant and a manager. I'm hoping I'd find those people someday, especially when I begin becoming a musician full time.

I agree, it looks like there are a lot of expenses to manage and if you really want to make music all the time you'll probably need a lot of help!
