What was the first techno/trance/house/dance/electro song you've ever heard?

Mine was Eiffel 65 - Blue (Da Ba Dee)
Was before 13 years or so, so memorable :)
Even now its my number 1 most played track on winamp ^^

Not techno, but long before that. It's probably the first type of electronic dance and it was called: New Beat. It's a track from 1988/1989:

The Confetti's - The Sound Of C

Quote
Confetti's
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Confetti’s was a Belgian New Beat band from the 1980s. Producers were Serge Ramaekers and Dominique Sas, sometimes credited as The Maxx. On stage Confetti’s was fronted by singer Peter Renkens and female dancers Marleen, Tania, Hilde and Daniëlla The band became one of the first to break through into mainstream music as a New Beat act. Their most successful period was between 1988 – 1989 with international hits like "The Sound Of C" and "C In China". Other releases were "Keep Smiling" , "C Countdown", "C Day Live" and "Circling Stars". One year after releasing their last single "Put ‘M Up" in 1990, the Confetti’s withdraw from spotlight.

"The Sound Of C"
The C in their first release "The Sound Of C" stands for the Belgian club Confetti’s in Brasschaat, near Antwerp. Serge Ramaekers en Dominique Sas were working on a marketing campaign to gain more publicity for the club. One of the servers at Confett’s (Peter Renkens) became the face of the marketing campaign, which included the single "The Sound Of C". To shoot a music video the band was dropped at the main shopping street in Antwerp De Meir and performed "The Sound Of C" in front of hundred citizens passing by. Due to the success of the first single, a live act was put together and Confetti’s traveled the world to promote their New Beat music. On stage singer Peter was always wearing a captain uniform. The dress code for New Beat was black & white clothes combined with childish accessories. In 1989 they released their only album "92… Our First Album"

Veracocha - Carte Blanche

Just one day at school (I think Year 9), I overheard some guys and got interested just from them talking about it!
Good times. Back in the days of simpler times.

Changed the topic title since it's EDM we are talking about here. Moved it from "the lounge" as well.

I don't remember, but it was probably some commercial track that was played either on MTV or the radio.

The track that got me into trance though was S.U.N Project - Tribolus back in 1999

Still one of my favorites. I love that old goa sound.

mine was some unknown track off of a burnt CD with "Danny C" written on it...

it had some remixes like I Need A Miracle and such.. but the best one and the one that got me into trance and edm in general, was a song about the boogey man.. lol i have no idea the title of the track but it was something about believing in the boogeyman.. some of the best music ive heard :)

lol I can't remember the first song that got me into Trance... I just remember listening to Dance Anthems on Radio 1 sometimes coming back in the car when I was like 8 or 9. Guess first few tracks would have to be Ralph Fridge - Angel, PPK - Resurrection or ATB - 9PM. I only really delved further into Trance when I was a bit older getting Sail around late 04/early 05 and buying Creamfields 2005.
