I woke up today to some weird news. I tried, but Remco translated this correctly. It is taken from The Spits. A newspaper in Holland.

Dance-event Trance Energy will continue under a new name. The change is simple, only Energy is left. According to the organizer, it doesn't mean there won't be any trance anymore at the event and say it will continue without making 'too much musical concessions'. The first audition will be held on the 19th of February, the ticketsales start the 9th of October.

Guess they are not planning to invite only trance DJ's for the next edition. Expect to see David Guetta in the line up.

Couldn't find anything on the ID&T site, but apparently they're hoping to attract a broader audience by adding a few house names in the line up.

Shame, because this was the biggest trance event in the world.

They don't say there won't be trance anymore, they say that it doesn't mean that there won't be trance anymore. But this will be a free ride for them to add other genres as well and looking at what they do to their other events, trance will be a smaller and smaller part of it

They started destroying Sensation a few years ago already. There's almost no trance anymore at that event. Maybe 2 DJ's per year in 12 events worldwide or something. THen last Mysteryland, from the 18-20 stages every year, there always were 1 or 2 trance stages. This year: 0! While (when you look at the DJ Mag Top 100) trance is the most important EDM genre.... And now Trance Energy... Thank you ID&T!

I already sent them an angry letter cz of Mysteryland, will do it again about Trance Energy!

But why? It was already sold out every year! :/ And that's the most important isn't it? The already have a huge house event with Sensation! Why not keeping this a trance event?! It's only once a year, unlike Sensation that has 10-20 events per year worldwide!

Confuses me too. Why change something that is so successful and risk ruining it?

So maybe it just means they won't play EXCLUSIVELY trance.  If they go through with this switch, I hope that they'll still set up a stage that caters to Trance Music.  It would be weird to have Ferry Corsten finish his set only to have David Guetta start his up.  (Just an example)

Ye but we already have an indoor event with 4 stages of different genres, it's called: Fabulous.

Trance Energy was unique.

Strange and slightly depressing news at the same time. This was one of the few remaining events that was a true Trance affair. Now that's not guaranteed. What a shame.

And suddenly i am not excited visiting it anymore, so sad that i lost my chance of experiencing it
