Do you like vocals in trance music?

Yes of course  ;) , one of my favourite tunes is Above & Beyond - Can't Sleep and it has a beatiful voice inside , Beautiful Things by Andain is also a classic , many other songs can be mentioned here , Kirsty Hawkshaw - Just Be , Your loving arms - Karen Overton etc.

I love vocals, in trance, especially when im listening to a DJ set there has to be alot of vocal centered songs.  Of course alot of non vocals tracks are good, but that cant be the entire set.  Human voices are needed to grab ones attention.

I love them.. but then again sometimes they just dont fit the track at all.
Vocals have and dont have thier place.

One of my fav vocal tunes of all time is Armin Van Buuren - Burned With Desire (Rising Star Remix)  What a tune.
:D

I do like them most of the time, but there are tracks I think would be much better without the vocals. Some people put them just for the sake of it.

4 Strings - Take Me Away (Into The Night)
I like the original "4 Strings - Into The Night" without the vocals much more.
And most of the psychedelic trance tracks, the vocals there really don't go well with the high BPM, with few exceptions.

I love "2 Devine - Black Is The Color" though, lovely vocals.

Vocals are for the most part a must.  There are some trks whixh are sooo amazing without vocals i.e. marcel woods- advanced.  Some sound better without, but the vocals help to identify the emotions.  I agree with the post that talked about, above & beyonds- can't sleep, and pretty much almost all the trks the kirsty hawkshaw sings in.(esp.  fragma-radio waves)  Basically, emotion, thats what it boils down to. (well at least for me)--cheers!

They can be alright, but I hate it when record company execs butcher a really decent tune by putting a vocal on top to try and shift as many units as possible - recent example being 'the egg'

yes but most trance songs dont need vocals because they are perfect without them
so if was going to make a trance it would depend of the feeling i am trying to show

I like vocals, but in moderation. They shouldn't be throughout the whole track. Like Above & Beyond-By Your Side

hell yeah. vocal trance is one of my favourite styles because it can mean the difference between a crap trance song and a good one. plenty of times ive imagined some classic vocal trance songs and new ones without the lyrics and they are boring and lifeless beats basically. there are exceptions of course. like synaesthesia as opposed to to the vocal mix by sheryl deane, that should have been left well alone in my opinion. Try to imagine rapture without the vocals. doesnt work. they are essential i believe in keeping the balance in the trance genre.

I think in the beginning of the whole trance genre there werent many vocal tracks. I think its become more popular in recent years. I for one think there has to be some, but not over doing it either.

Sometimes I like instrumentals, sometimes I like human vocals, sometimes I like robotic vocals
Now known as Randy Derricott. I may sometimes use the DJ Ranz alias for certain projects though.

nice we got some different opinions here

I must say Trance is first and foremost, VocalLESS

Vocals are fine when done right, but at heart Epic Anthems is TRANCE
Trance Über Alles!
