Hello Tom and welcome to TP

Nothing wrong with having a go with the decks, its how we all start :D

When you say hardcore, are you talking the 150 BPM Happy variety? Or a more hard house / hard trance type of tune.

Hope you enjoy your stay here!

That's called Happy Hardcore, like Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo back in the days hahaha ;) He probbably means the 180 BPM and no melody. :p

Anyway, welcome to TrancePodium, Thomas! :D

hi guys

when i say hardcore i mean along the lines of 170bpm its called uk hardcore. dj's like hixxy and dougal and gammer, dj mob. you guys that arent from the uk will not of heard of it i would imagine as it is very much sort of an underground genre in the uk and not very popular. loving the trance though guys haha

I know of Dougal. He was pretty big in the Happy Hardcore era and I have some vinyl with him on it. I still pull out that stuff ..rarely.. when I feel like being the ball inside a pinball machine. haha memories.

very true mate. think thats mad i do how ya dont see things change until years on then ya look back and see how things have changed. one of the reasons i joined this forum is because i have noticed that there isnt a great deal of bitching about. or from what iv seen anyway. on alot of the other forums which i never bother to join it just seems as though they hate everone thats young who loves music because they arent from the same era if ya know what i mean. they are like oh i grew up in the biggest days of trance and its nothing like it used to be now so therefore im a bigger fan than you. get where im coming from !!:p

Haha I used to belong to a forum... a very big and old trance forum that was just like that. Left in 06 when I found this happy place so I hear ya loud and clear. We all love different styles here, from Progressive, to Psy and everything in between. That goes beyond Trance too.

I grew up and started in what some call the best era of Trance. I have thousands of vinyl from back then and still love it and listen to those glorious tracks. I also still buy 20-40 tracks per month of the wonderful and glorious tracks that come out today. Yea, back then it was a different sound and there was something magical about it in its simplicity, but damn there is some epic stuff out there today and every time I get behind the decks, I know I'm going to get to that emotional high just as I did 15 years ago.

Change and evolution are good things yea? Always new sounds to stir the soul. :hp:

We have a huge hardcore scene here as well already since the early 90s, mainly in Rotterdam and smalll villages. I even think that hardcore started here, but I can't state that with facts.

haha nice to know that i arent the only one that thinks that then. and were ya mate cool wish i was haha. but ye mate i do believe that change is a good thing, people that dont think its good just arent prepared to accept the changes being made in my opinion. and you might be right there remco because i have absolutley no idea where it began haha. i think that the hardcore over the netherlands is alot more bassier isnt it? i may be wrong just what i thought :-)

I wouldn't know. Don't know much about hardcore, only from what I heard on Mysteryland passing the Q-Dance stage ;)
