Dear All,
You may have heard that our distributor, Amato Distribution Ltd, filed bankruptcy on 19th of November. This is a crushing blow for dance music in general and as one of Amato's biggest labels, Anjunabeats has taken a huge financial hit. We are still assessing the damage but we also understand that you are probably wondering what this means for the future of Anjunabeats.
The harsh reality is that we may not be paid on some or all of the records sold by Amato over the last 6 months. We are in the process of recovering any stock held by Amato and are doing everything possible to minimize the damage to Anjunabeats and our artists.
Over the long term Anjunabeats will withstand this blow and will continue its operations as usual. We are already in advanced discussions with one of the industry's best distributors and are hopeful of having a new agreement in place over the next week or two, enabling us to resume our physical release schedule asap. We are still re-assessing our vinyl situation, but it is currently our intention to continue to release vinyl whenever possible, and we will keep you posted on this.
With your help and support, Anjunabeats will bounce back fully from this, so please continue to support the music (especially through our own webstore at www.cdjshop.com) and here's to a fantastic 2008 and beyond.
James, Jono, Tony, Paavo, Soraya
