Help me start out with acoustic guitar -
3 May 2008, at 05:08
My regards to the community. I already have a taste of music as I played Saxophone for 6 years and sang in choir for 5. I want to have my fingers going on an acoustic guitar. I already own 2. . I was wondering if anyone could tell me a good way to start out. What should I be doing, etc... That kind of stuff. Any advice would be great.

Thanks

you should take some guitar lessons in your town.. that would be more effective if someone looks at you and tells you what are you doing wrong and how to do it well.

Yeah, or try looking at a chord chart. Try some major and minor chords. They should be easy enough.

Start with A, E, C, Am, Em, D,Dm and G. That should start you off playing a lot of popular songs. And then, just keep exploring. Playing popular songs could be helpful.

If your fingertips start to feel painful, don't worry. Every guitarist goes through that. Eventually, your fingertips will be calloused, and then you can play longer without feeling that pain from pressing on the strings. enjoy. :)

If you want some more help, just send me a message. :)
