My Depositfiles account blocked -
9 November 2012, at 07:23
I hate to inform everybody that my Depositfiles account has been blocked. I received this email from them:

Quote
Dear User,

We regret to inform you that your DepositFiles user account has been disabled subject to Cl. 8.2 of DepositFiles User Agreement for violation of Subclause 3.1.(i) of the User Agreement i.e. repeating copyright infringement.

If you believe the accusation to be false, please contact DepositFiles support team to legally file a takedown counter-notice. However be warned that the alleged copyright owners will be informed of your claims to their alleged rights, which, if untrue or misleading, will lead to legal prosecution from the copyright owners.

If you have any additional inquiries feel free to contact DepositFiles support team.

Yours sincerely,
Depositfiles Team

Now since I don't know what exactly are the laws in this for 100% sure, I don't want to take the risk of telling them the accusation to be false and to be taken into legal prosecution.

I hate this, because Depositfiles was the only one I could find with a storage period of 90 days without download. Also, if that still wasn't enough to keep them running, I could make a little bit of money with the downloads to pay for a premium account every once and a while.

The way it looks now, almost all my files are still working (only some ASOT episodes have been deleted so far), but since I can't see anymore when the files will be deleted, I can't keep them running. So after the expiration of the storage period my files will be deleted in time.

I'm going to search for another host with a 90 days storage period, preferably also with a payment policy so I can pay for a premium account again. So if anybody already knows a site like this, please tell me. It would be much appreciated :D

I created a new account on Depositfiles as that one is simply the best I can find. I will only use it for new stuff tho, so I can earn a bit of money to keep the old stuff and lesser downloaded files running on other filesharing sites.

So I will use Depositfiles next to other filesharing sites, such as 4Shared, Rapidshare and probably FileFactory.

4Shared because it never deletes files, but it has a maximum of 15GB only, so I'll only use it for the TrancePodium specials.

Rapidshare is easy because I only have to start a download and can cancel it right after to have it count as a download and it will be available for another month. They also notify me through email when a file will be deleted. I can't put a lot of files here tho, cz I still can't start 2,000:30=67 downloads a day ;)

FileFactory because it's the only site besides Depositfiles that has a 90 days storage period instead of 30. It doesn't make me any money, so I will need the bit of money I make with Depositfiles to keep it running. The only problem is I can't get a download to work there and I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm in a vicious circle there and when I push the download button, it doesn't start downloading. Maybe somebody can help me with what I'm doing wrong. Here's a trial link:

I seriously considered using Zippyshare, I even created an account there, but besides the fast downloadspeed, it has too many disadvantages, such as:
- only 30 days storage period
- max. filesize 200MB

There is also Mediafire. The free version allows you to store files that are 200 MB or less. They never get deleted unless they get reported or you delete them.
Now known as Randy Derricott. I may sometimes use the DJ Ranz alias for certain projects though.

Thanks, I'll think about that one too. 200MB isn't much tho and there's a storage space of 50GB only, which would be just enough for the Intuition files only that I have (besides the few episodes that were over 200MB).

But if they never get deleted, I will probably host those there :D

My problem with FileFactory has been solved, so I'm ready to rumble again hahaha :D

Turns out, the storage period for free users is limited: #url-removed

Edit: but here I think they say they never remove content. Only complete accounts:

Can you explain me exactly what this means, cz it's getting a bit too technical for me. Do they have limited storage or not? Will all files stay active by just loggin in to my account?
