So what kind of cars do you guys drive?

I drive a black, 2006 Toyota Corolla CE.  It runs pretty good.  What it lacks in fuel capacity, it more than makes up for in the distance it can travel with the alloted fuel.

My dream car is a Nissan Skyline GT-R34 which can be seen here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_skyline#GT-R_5

However, there are a number of reasons why I can't get one.
1.  It's only available in Japan and costs a fortune to import one into the United States.
2.  Japan drives on the left side of the road and as a result, cars in Japan have their steering on the right.  If I do try to get one, I must get the wheel switch which will cost even more.
3.  In some parts of the US it is illegal to have one as they are mainly used for street racing.  One skyline made an appearance in a "FAST AND FURIOUS" movie.

i have a 2003 mazda protege / Familia / 323.  Its great.  added a turbo and a whole lot of great stuff.  I  am now in the market for a second car, to replace my old MR2.  I am looking at either a NSX or Skyline GT-R.

You like in the same state as me.  Is it illegal to own a Skyline in Florida? 

No its not. it just has to be imported properly.
i have also scoured out an importer here and am working with him to see if i can get the model i want.

Ok what is a proper import and an improper import for a Skyline?  I want to know as I dream of owning one soon

a proper import is one that is registered correctly and is fully legal by your state.  Improper imports normally come over  as pieces, and they build the cars together here in the country.  This is labeld as a kit car in the states and its sort of a loop hole to get it done cheaply.  Unfortunately, this can lead  to the future impounding / crushing of your car if the authorities ever crack down on that matter.

Ahhh that makes perfect sense.

By the way, there is a Chinese car called the "GEELY" that is already out in China and Europe.  However, it won't be released in the Americas anytime soon and this is why.

I guess it's true what they say: You get what you pay for.

I think these cars are going for about $2,500-10,000.  If I had to choose between a cheap and unsafe car or an expensive and safe car, I would go with expensive and safe.
