Trance Club -

OK, me & my one friend are trying to start a trance club or something at our college. We aren't sure on the exact name of it yet. Now, the problem is we need a reason for having the club at the school. We have an advisor lined up, but we need to make it good & reasonable for the president or dean or whatever to pass the idea and create the club. We have a number of students willing to join, we just need a solid couple of reasons to get it approved. Can anyone give any ideas? I think the wording was "what benefit will this club bring & how will it enrich the student's learning" or whatever. Any help is much appreciated.

Our school has its own radio station (lots of colleges do I think) and you may try to gain support of your club through some sort of weekly one or two-hour time slot. Just as an aside. Also, I think anything pertaining to the arts (music included) is valid enough reason for enhancing learning, especially about the humanities/cultures. Trance is far along enough as a genre to be understood well from a cultural aspect. The rave scene, for better or worse; the fact that trance has spread into all countries of the world and is probably one of the most internationally uniting genres of music in decades, because it can connect with people who want to interpret electronic music through the perspective of their own nationality. For instance, someone from East Asia may have a more inspiration from the Orient than someone from Latin America, who may incorporate Latin musical styles with electronic. Things like that should help.
