Your most overrated producers -
27 June 2014, at 00:02
I've been checking some of the DJ Mag Top 100 results and I wondered this.
And now I'm to you: Which are in your opinion the most overrated producers?

In my opinion:

5. Tiësto / Ok, let me explain it. His trance era was brilliant, I think everybody is agree, but I wonder why does he stay at Top 10 of the DJ Mag when his current music sucks.

4. will.i.am / We all know he tried to copy to Arty & Mat Zo. Nothing else to say.

3. David Guetta / Well, I think there's no need to say anything.

2. Daft Punk / I don't understand why many people love them, I think they've nothing special.

1. Skrillex / I HATE his music, pure noise for my ears.

I agree with all 5 of them. David Guetta only get this famous cz of his callaborations with already famous pop artists and his latest album was for more than half produced by Afrojack.

With will.i.steal it wasn't only that track. He stole 3 or 4 tracks of that album.

The most special thing about Daft Punk was that nobody knew ever what they looked like. They were always in disguise. However, recently a photographer cought them at the airport when they had to be without masks. It pissed them off really that they were cought, but if you want to be famous, it is bound to happen. They did make some nice tracks in the past though which were sort of boundbreaking.

With mentioning David Guetta and the new Tiesto btw, you can also mention Martin Garrix, Avicii or Calvin Harris. Funny was that a few weeks ago, Quintino performed at the Ziggo Dome. A place with a capacity of 17,000 people. Only 1,600 tickets were sold. Some people score a hit and they immediately think they're Tiesto or Armin van Buuren hahaha

I didn't mention Garrix cause he's very young, but it's true he's overrated too.

About Avicii, I didn't put him here cause he is one of the few that has tried different styles. I mean, 'Levels' or 'I Could Be The One' doesn't sound like 'Wake Me Up', and in my opinion this has to be admired, because nowadays these DJ's they first get a style and they work it till the rest of their lifes, many of them are afraid to change.

I'm surprised you're agree with Tiësto in my list, I thought everyone would be against me, but I'm glad to see you're not. But that's the true, Tiësto was one of the best Trance and Progressive producers some years ago, and I'm sure everyone liked him, but he fu**ed up when he decided to left from this, and now, his music sucks.

Thank you for your answer btw, I've learned some curiosities. :p
