Hey guys!

I want to offer a bit of help to fill the trancepedia. Since i'm working for 3 labels, i can add all releases from them, but i might also add/edit some other labels i know. If interested, please let me know how to do this. I only saw the "edit label" button.

Hey man, that would be great. We need all the help we can get :D

When you click on the word "Trancepedia" you get all the submit buttons for all the parts of Trancepedia.

When you go to an individual part (Artists, Aliases, Events, etc.) at the bottom of each page you can also find a "New ..." button ;)

Let me know if you can find them.

Remco, thanks for the help. I found everything, but i need an example or small guide on how to put info into the "new release" table. How to build up the tracklist so it synchronizes with juno store? And what's "tracks" section for, if there's "tracklist" already?

The tracks you enter in the tracklist of a release, will appear automatically in the "Tracks". But in the "Tracks" the credits and lyrics can be added. When you click on a track, you can also see immediately which other versions are made of it.

You can't synchronize it with Juno. We have an agreement with Juno that they add all their trance releases automatically in Trancepedia, that's where the links are coming from. Members can't add downloadlinks, we do that to prevent people to add illegal links

Cool, i got that! One last question before i do, what to put in "names" fields?

New release - Name
What i put here? Full release title? For example:

Alexey Yakovlev - Last Reflection
or
Last Reflection
or (if i need to state all tracks)
Alexey Yakovlev - Last Reflection / Reverse Side

Next field:
Aliases - Name
Again what to put here? I don't even have examples cause i don't know.

I think the rest i understood.

Thanks!

Yes, with the releases, name = full release title

For example: Alexey Yakovlev - Last Reflection

Sometimes an EP has the name of 2 tracks, like this indeed:
Alexey Yakovlev - Last Reflection / Reverse Side

But if the release title is only one of the 2 tracks, than only use that one.

Under Aliases you write all the aliasses that have released the release seperately.
In this case only Alexey Yakovlev.

But for example with Ferry Corsten vs. Markus Schulz - Stella, you write:
Ferry Corsten
Markus Schulz

This is what links the "Releases" to the "Aliases".

The first box under "Release Dates" you fill in the label.

In the tracklist:
Artist = alias name
Name = tracktitle
Version = remix name

Hope this will help you :)

I've been working with Trancepedia for a while now, and i found two things to change for better or faster service.

1. Currently releases on artist pages are sorted by date added. I suggest them sorted by release date (descending). Example: http://www.trancepodium.com/aliases/proff

2. Aliases section has the most pages, and takes time to go through. To reduce such time, i suggest to remove capitalization arguement from filter. So that if i enter "proff" or "Proff", i get the same artist page displayed as if i entered "PROFF".

That's it for now, thanks!

Your first point has already been taken and is on the to do list of Marjan, our technical Admin. I think I agree with your 2nd point as well. With some aliasses not everybody can know in what way it has to be written, with capitals or not, etc.
