IDA ENGBERG BIO:
Being the resident Djane in Stockholm’s legendary Cocktail Club Ida worked out the sophisticated style of her DJ Sets for years. “I play deep house, tech house, funky techno, some minimal and sometimes some electro. Everything that touches my soul basically. I’ll always keep on playing underground electronic dance music.“, she confesses.

Ida Engberg was born in a suburb of Stockholm. She moved around a little, lived in Marbella and in Ibiza for quite a while. Now she settled on an island right outside Stockholm called Lidingö.

There’s one question of male fellows Ida has to face eversince she started selecting music: “How come you decided to become a DJ? – I mean since you are a girl and all???” The truth is Ida never really decided to become a DJ. It just happened as she reports: “My first boyfriend at the age of 14 was DJing and I thought it was really cool. He taught me how to mix a little bit but it wasn’t until I was 18 that I started to play myself.“

Her first gig was in a club that a friend of her was running. His ordinary resident was sick and Ida just happened to be there. “I said, ’I can play’, he just looked at me and said something like ’Yeah right’. I can’t believe I actually convinced him to let me play that night. It was great, I loved it!” A few weeks later Ida got asked to start playing in one of the biggest and most famous after-hours club in Stockholm called The Spy Bar. This was the beginning of her life as a DJ.

KONRAD BLACK BIO:
Konrad Black has been involved in DJing, producing and performing music for the past ten years. A constant throughout his career is the signature mix of dirty bass threads with atmospheric sounds, emerging from his roots in drum’n’bass and hip hop. After his first release on Formation Records in the UK, influences such as Maurizio and Klang inspired more minimal sounds, and in 1998, a meeting with Swayzak in Vancouver led to ‘Greycale’ for Slow Building in 1999. From there Konrad went on to record a number of tracks on 240 volts, including the ‘Nails’ or alternatively titled ‘Heavy Metal Withdrawal’ EP as well as the ‘Busting Down the Door with a Shotgun’ EP.

After moving to London and working with Ed Rush and Optical's prestigious D&B label Virus Recordings, Konrad recorded the track ‘White Cigarettes’ for Swayzak’s 240 Volts Compilation released that year. Concurrently Konrad worked with March 21st of Circlesquare on the ‘Headgear Project’, releasing ‘Believers Goodbye’. This project culminated in collaboration with Swayzak for the track ‘In the Car Crash’ on the seminal album ‘Dirty Dancing’, released in 2002.

From there he went on to work on Circlesquare’s album ‘Pre-Earthquake Anthems’ for London based Output Recordings. Likewise, Headgear's final joint production then was the Unkle remix of ‘In a State’. In 2004 Konrad then formed Wagon Repair Recordings with Mathew Jonson, Graham Boothby and Jesse Fisk. He continued his wide panorama of sound on his first release on the label: ‘Draconia’, which enjoyed critical success internationally, followed by club hit 'Medusa Smile', both top ranked in playlists of opinion leaders like Ricardo Villalobos, Richie Hawtin, Steve Bug, Loco Dice or Tiga.
