PURE MUSIC FESTIVAL SERVES UP BRIGHT LIGHTS AND BIG BEATS FOR SOUTH FLORIDA ELECTRONICA FANS

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Jan. 5, 2009 – Downtown West Palm Beach’s Meyer Amphitheatre came alive with the pulsating energy and progressive beats of the first annual PURE Music Festival on Saturday, Jan. 3.  The siren call of House, Trance, Drum N Bass, Breaks, Electro and Industrial music beckoned thousands of young fans from all over South Florida to the day-long music event featuring all-star talents like George Acosta, Steve Porter, Evol Intent, Baby Anne, Jen Lasher, VJ Zebbler and Cato K.

Plans for a sophomore effort are already underway as the PURE masterminds are enthusiastically committed to building upon their success.  “Our love for this music, its diversity and the energy it brings is why we’ve created the PURE Music Festival,” said Frank Cavallino of the events’ production company, Apex Management & Productions. “We get to do what we love,” added Apex Management partner Ilia Mogilevsky.  PURE’s Vice President of Operations Marlon Cox echoed his collaborators’ sentiments.  “This event is just the beginning,” he said.  “We’re eager to see what the future will bring.”

Preparations will include another hunt for South Florida’s next DJ all-star and a new face to add to their roster of performers as this year’s search turned up DJ Se-Bass, a local 20-year-old phenom, who won the top-spot in the contest and more than held his own with the greats as the festival’s opening act.  PURE called on the music’s fan base to crown this year’s winner, who racked up hundreds of votes during the four-week long, online contest.

PURE brought electronica’s rhythmic trance and diverse crowd to West Palm Beach, a first for the area.  Revelers enjoyed on-stage seating, just feet from music royalty, as well as a specialty area that offered some fans a more laid-back way to delight in the epic day of dance.  After the concert wrapped at 10:00 pm, the party moved to select downtown venues where headliners and local talent performed until the early morning hours.

A percentage of ticket proceeds were donated to The Children's Coalition.
