Saturday the 30th of July marks a special moment in the international calendar of festivals. On this day Alda Events presents Electronic Family, the first large outdoor trance festival in the world. The setting for the new festival is a magical spot in the woods near Amsterdam.
Twenty years after the classic ‘Age Of Love', trance flourishes worldwide as never before. The annual DJmag Top 100 DJs poll is dominated by the genre every single year. Large indoor events like ‘Armin Only' and ‘A State Of Trance' are visited by diehard fans and sell out weeks in advance. This is a perfect time to launch an outdoor festival based on trance music. Festival-goers will be able to enjoy performances from some of the best DJs in the world, all of whom rarely perform on one stage together. Combined with the numerous visitors coming from all over the world, they'll be making ‘one big happy electronic family'!

There's a Dutch saying that goes ‘a good start is half the work'. With no less than four artists in the top 10 of the Top 100 DJs poll, it hardly can get any better. Besides Armin van Buuren, the main stage features - amongst others - Ferry Corsten, Markus Schulz and Gareth Emery. Also not to be missed will be the performance by trance icons Gabriel & Dresden, who make a welcome re-appearance together after a sabbatical of three years.
A State Of Trance & Balearic Beats
But Electronic Family offers so much more. Besides the impressive main stage, a special area is hosted by ‘A State Of Trance'. When you put both stages together, you can enjoy performances by Alex M.O.R.P.H, Aly & Fila, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Gabriel & Dresden, Gareth Emery, Jochen Miller, Leon Bolier, Markus Schulz, Rank 1, Setrise, Sied van Riel, Simon Patterson and Wippenberg. On top of these top names, an intimate chill-out zone is being programmed to ensure the ultimate in relaxing ‘Balearic beats'. This will be the perfect sound for a warm summer evening when you need to catch your breath for a moment.
Amsterdam Forest
Electronic Family is situated in a forest near to Amsterdam. A large field of grass has been developed with the sole purpose of hosting thousands of festival people, in order to give them a wonderful day.
