Moguai & Zenker - Diamond Back

moguai_zenker_diamond_back.jpgWhat do you get when two of the biggest German artists join forces to produce two bass thumping slabs of electro for one of the coolest labels? Well see for yourself by clicking on the link above!

Responsible for French Kiss under his Honesty 69 guise and also part of dance outfit Fragma, Ramon Zenker has also worked with Paul van Dyk, Depeche Mode and New Order. Teaming up with Moguai who has an extremely busy year releasing for the likes of iO Music and his very own label PUNX plus hosting some mega parties and presenting two of the biggest radio shows in Germany, its quite frankly a wonder that these two found the time to meet.

Diamond Back is a stripped back tech-minimal affair that keeps you on your toes with plenty of unexpected jolty build-ups, mixing in some distorted claps and twisted synth stabs for good measure. Pierce then steps up to the remix table and slam-dunks the original into a totally different place. Think tribal drums, cricket sounding wood blocks and a very deep bass line- this would fit right in with the deep house brigade. Then out of no-where, Andrea Doria comes into the wrestling remix ring, turning out a dark, edgy, very cool piece of electronica.

Back to Moguai and Zenker, who provide us with track no. 3 titled Ray. This piece of Electro Tech-House builds nicely with chord progression, and dramatic build ups, moving on to the finishing Track of the EP from Oliver Koletzki who has done a mashup of both Diamond Back and Ray together… Go check it out!
