A few questions. -

First,

I've got a pair of Numark Axis 4's. I was wondering if they have a key function, because I can't find anything about it in the manual. If you look closely at the screen, it looks like there's a 'KEY', but it's not lit up. this makes me think that they do, but I can't figure out how to turn it on.

Second,

To record a mix, what do you guys use? I've got a demo for Traktor Pro 3 and it seems like a quality program, but is there something better?

Thanks guys.

First, no, I can't find the function either, but If there is a key button just press it once and you will probably see something in the display. I got the Denon S-3500 myself, and there the key button is very easily found.

Second, I just use the free program Audacity to record a set. You can render to mp3 or wav in highest quality. I got ableton and traktor scratch, but don't use it for recording a set.

Traktor is a quality program me thinks too! :)

Good Luck with your mixing!

I too record straight from my decks into the computer, but I use Logic Pro to record the set.

That way, I can re-master it if I want, especially when I am mixing with vinyl.
