I understand about other ones, but can i ask why Above & Beyond?

im not sure, i absolutely love A&B as a producer. I will see them live for the first time in a couple weeks to see if they are great dj's as well.

I think A&B are great as producers. The fact they're with the 3 of them, seems a bit easy as they always come with the 2 of them, so they sell their name A&B but one is always free. But doesn't even bother me. As heard heard some guestmixes of them, I already thought they play many of their own tracks. In fact, often they only play tracks of their own. Seems a bit promotional/commercial to me. And besides that, because they almost only play tracks of their own, their whole mix sounds a bit the same and is getting boring. Take their remix of ASOT 400 for example, I could've just put an album of them and I would've had the same. But ok, even besides that, I've seen them at Mysteryland for the first time 2 months ago. I must say it was a good set, but again, many tracks of their own, what made it a bit boring, like their guestmixes. Again, it was a good set, and don't get me wrong, I like them, but I've heard soooo many DJ's puttiing together much better sets. So being pissed about their spot is a bit exaggerated maybe, they absolutely deserve to be in top 20, but 4th? No way. Ferry, Markus, Gareth and Menno are better, just to name a few.

A&B are great producers, however, Oceanlab productions [i kno its the same] are extremely lacking and way too commercial and vocal

The two times I saw them they put on a good show, and luckily didnt use more Oceanlab material than A&B material, I was very pleased

like S AFC A mentioned they do seem to fill their sets with a lot of their two projects, A&B/OL

I think if you wna listen to A&B do what they do best, whic is mixing their own tracks well and a few others good too, then seeing A&B is the thing to do. Their productions are ace and that's why people wna go see them. Same thing with someone like Deadmau5. Yeah, he plays a lot of his own stuff but the productions rock and Deadmau5 is the only artist who can play his own music in his style of DJing. So if A&B's mixing and transitions were crap, then I wouldn't consider them great but I like their stuff and the way they put their mixes together and only A&B can do that coz it's their music so it's their style of mixing.
But on a more contrasting note, a more varied mix of artists usually makes for a more exciting mix because you really don't know what they're going to throw into the mix next.

DJ Mag has become massively commercialised and if it was somehow possible to test people before they vote on how much they really know about EDM they know, then I think at least some of the commercial voters would be filtered out of the polls :D

I agree, even though they have prouduced great trance tracks -no one can doubt that- their sets seem so monotone, every time i see a tracklist its like seeing their prouctions mixed together in a different way each time :S.. I will see them live for the first time on the 22nd of december and i really hope they will prepare smth different..
I also believe that the Oceanlab  productions (Sirens of the Sea album)  are kind of commercial and boring that's why hearing so many of them in one set doesnt impress me at all..  So i agree, they are overrated, which is where i wanted to conclude :p..
As for the rest of the results :/, when i saw Markus didnt move :O :O and Menno wasnt even in the top 30 again, it said it all for me and i couldnt care less about the top 10.
... Endless love and trust in trance ...
