Hello fellow tp'ers :D.
So, Sindre Eide wrote this as part of an assignment (talk about cool assignments) discussing why trance fans think "Trance 2.0" is bad music. I think its pretty interesting, he attempts to explain some things based on music theories.

Hope you enjoy it ^^

My pleasure :D
I was particularly interested in the comment of someone who wrote that its ridiculous that fans complain how this new kind of trance doesn't bring anything new to the scene nowadays. And he said that back when trance was created, it never brought anything "new" to the EDM scene either.
I don't know what you people who have been listening to EDM music since forever think about this?

Very interesting read. Not sure about the term Trance 2.0. Trance like any other genre is changing. I think if we still had the same trance as in the 90s it would've gotten boring as well and wouldn't bring anything new either. Not sure if it already didn't bring new to the EDM scene during the 90s like someone stated. I think it did, but that's normal with a new genre. A lot of crap is made now, true, but that's only because of internet and computers. It has gotten much easier to make and spread something, so much more is made and so much more is crap. But, like also someone stated in a comment, in the 90s also a lot of bad trance was made. The thing is just that we have forgotten about those and only remember the good ones. I mean, how many great classic trance is there out there? Devide the amount by the amount of years that have passed. Were there really a lot more great tracks per year as there is now? I haven't calculated it, but I'm guessing it's not that much different.
