Hey all..  just a little introduction.  My name is Adam and I live in the US.  I was brought into the scene on trance but switched, as most new ravers do, to another form of electronic music...drum & bass.  Well in the past couple of years I, unlike many other people, am not pleased with the direction some djs are taking it so I've found myself going back to my roots and listening to trance.  I've had some major changes in my life recently and trance just seems to fit better now.  Anyways, a friend of mine found this site and said I should join so here I am.

Looking forward to meeting some cool new people. :)

Welcome to the site DJ Crisis!
I was into DnB for a short period of time as well, but it's not really my cup of tea.
What kind of trance do you spin?

Enjoy your stay :)

Hello There. Have a nice stay at TP forums ;)

I actually haven't been spinning trance at all.  When I got tables it was a Numark Phat Pack and that was a couple years ago.  That equipment has seen better days.  :P  I was still heavy into drum and bass so my records colelction is mostly dnb.  I'm currectly saving up for some good gear that will last me.  Due to the changes in my life DJing had to take a backseat for a while but I think it's time to get back into the driver's seat.  I've been listening to a lot of mellow trance lately but if I Djed for a living I would be the peak night DJ that spins the hard stuff or at least that's what I'd like to imagine.. hehe  I always thought about being a good all around DJ that could mix anything together..  being able to switch genres and basically run a night that consisted of everything.. house, trance, breaks, dnb..  having it flow together seamlessly.. that'd be awesome. :)

Ah, I see :)
Being able to spin everything would be great, but it would take a lot of time and effort to keep up with the newest releases in all those genres. ;)

This is true :)  You would be the definitive source for new electronic music.

hi Adam  good to see you on here , hope you enjoy your stay matey look forward to having a banter with you dude

so tell us what's floating your boat then ? I see you was into D&B never really cared for it my self like but at least you've seen the error of your way's and come back to what you love .

question ??? why is D&B and hardcore so big in America but the quality hard house and dance is snubbed ????

LOL, I wouldn't say there were errors in my ways.  I still love DnB just not right now. :P

As for your question.. I've never really given it much thought.  D&B is like the heavy metal of electronic music and here hard rock and heavy metal are very popular.  So I guess if you were a regular listener of that type of music D&B would be a more logical progression than say vocal trance.  Harcore is pretty much the same.  I guess anything you can head bang to works.

As for me.. I'm listening to ATB - The DJ 3 - In the Mix Disc 2 as I write this.  The more mellow of the 2 discs I think.  At this time in my life this is what's "floating my boat." :)
