Did I sense sarcasm in Daniel's posts? Seems to me like he DOES care after all :p

Not really happy with the list, tbh. I think public votes killed the list. Swedish House Mafia in top 50? :yell:

Swedish House Maffia was voted #56 under the member's votes, so it's not just the public votes. We had those non-trance artists in the list last year as well when it was still 100% member votes. And especially the top 10 didn't change much from last year ;)

...that's really got me annoyed ^^^ but I can see why he's got annoyed too.

Daniel Kandi has always been one of my favourites as a producer and DJ for as long as I can remember. His track, 'Child', was, and will always be, one of his best tracks. I even remember when he talked on ASOT about how he wanted to play the right style for the audience when really he should just play the right style for him - it gave me a chance to see Kandi as a genuine person and not as a Trance celebrity - trying to figure out his way and develop his career.

Admittedly, I would've loved him to have been further up the chart, but in hindsight, I didn't even vote for him.

Being out of the Trance scene for a bit, due to a busted laptop, loss of music and even no internet, I didn't get the chance to see the latest from my favourite artists. When I finally got back onto the internet, I downloaded the latest ASOT and went from there - which is sad because I didn't really check out the latest Kandi remix/track.

All I have to say to Kandi is he's a great artist, great producer and he has 'true fans' not just 'single-track' fans. But what I don't get is why he has to publish to the world about how stupid something like a simple poll is. How is being a douche gonna help anything? I'm sure there are long-time fans of Kandi on TrancePodium, and just because I didn't get the chance to see what he's done over the last year, doesn't mean he needs to be rowdy about.

It's wrong to say but if I'd seen more publicity in the UK, whether it be through online marketing or even local, I'd have given him a second look but it's hard to get past the big DJ's/commercialisation - and it's sad to say, 'second look', too, when it should be a 'first look'.

My rant is over, I just wish producers who push these sort of comments across the web would grow up. When they get the chance to play in front of thousands of people every week, entertain and give something to everyone who supports them, why is their a need to comment to fans like we don't care? Don't let DJ's turn into celebrities and instead appreciate the gift they have.

Saw Kandi at Luminosity Trance Gathering and it was one the worst sets I've seen the past few years ;)

Yeah, I understand that, but it is still wrong. It's not like I always loved our top 50 from top to bottom, I just think we should've kept it members-only poll as we already did.

I remember you saying that you only got 8 votes from members and I believe that was around 2 weeks before the poll closes. So I believe this year non-members were far more superior than us.

No need to mention my disappointment about Dash Berlin. If this poll continues next year like this, we might be looking at a new Top 10 entry. Also, Tiësto definitely doesn't belong there (kinda strange that's coming from me, huh :p).
Arty, Deadmau5 again overrated. And what's up with Omnia? It's not like people listened his sets, he is there only because he released The Fusion which was played by Armin only a million times.

Such a shame Mr. Pit & KhoMha aren't higher, as well as Tucandeo guys & Airwave, just to name a few...

Overall not a bad list at all.

Would of loved to see Menno higher as I felt he really deserved it, but hey its al good.

The top is a great group of talented artists and DJs and they deserve it!

Congratulations to the winners!

I've read comments asking about why there are some non-trance acts appearing in the results. Please note that although we are obviously a trance site, this poll was not advertised as exclusively "Trance DJ" poll. Our audience is mainly trance listeners, so of course most of the DJ's on the list will be trance, but that doesn't mean that non-trance DJ's will not appear in the results, especially those who have released/played trance music at some point in the past and have kept some of their trance fan base to this day.

At the end of the day, our winner Armin van Buuren himself has played a lot of tracks by Deadmau5, Swedish House Mafia and other acts which are not exclusively labelled as "trance", and all that in a show called "A State Of Trance".

"Don't be a prisoner of your own style!", right?

I am amazed Daniel Kandi didn't make it. I am pretty sure I even voted for him.
Maybe we can vote for Andy Blueman next time and see what Kandi says about losing to a retiree :P

I'm glad Ferry moved up, I'd like to think I helped :p If it was Members Only it would have been Armin, Menno, Markus, Ferry most likely. I am also a bit disappointed with some of the positions and non-trance entries, but ya it makes sense and is not at all close to making an impact on our list

Hey Remco, nice job I'm sure you were involved and everyone else at TP Staff, especially Marjan. I did a mini experiment of sorts, I voted for MIKE twice, did it work? did he get only one vote and the vote for Push wasn't enough to get that alias listed? Interested how that is handled LOL

Unfortunately since I had to make up for forgetting about MIKE lat year I forgot about SvR AND Brandt this Year! :O Noooo, now I can't wait for next year
