Canada as irresponsible as USA and China? -

Canada is the first country to step out of the Kyoto agreement. The reason for this is that they can't reach the norm and it costs too much money.

But there's more. They also said that the Kyoto agreement doesn't work, because and I quote: "The biggest polluters USA and China don't take part of the Kyoto agreement."

So basically what they're saying is: "They don't have to so we don't have to either"... And that's coming from a minister! These kind of sentences are normally only used by little children!

With these rubbish reasons, they have proven to be just as weak and stupid as the USA and China. Countries that don't (read: never) take responsibility for their actions!

Yeah, I agree with you here Remco. This is disgusting, just because the US refuse to accept that Climate Change is happening it does not mean that the rest of us should turn a blind eye.

It might cost more money, however I don't see how people do not think that improving our carbon footprint is only a good thing. There are somethings we can't cut down up on but things such as not using a car so much, making your house more eco friendly and recycling are all so easy to do and fairly inexpensive. Hell, I enjoy recycling now!

However, climate change probably benefits Canada, if more ice melts it will make for better more cost efficient shipping channels. I am sure they have never thought about this mind....

Maybe they believe they have too many islands and they want to get rid of some ;)

But ye, I guess they don't want to get rid of their huge and environment unfriendly Hummers, fuelsucking oldtimes, trucks and other 4x4s... And as long as a gallon of fuel there is the same price as a liter here, they won't give a damn. Will it really cost more money to the state? Make fuel twice, 3 times or even 4 times more expensive and they will get billions extra with taxes. But like I said, they don't want to get rid of their fuelsucking rides.
