Nice topic, I'm also interested what everyone else here does for living.
I'm a software engineer and computer science researcher. Currently working as a junior research assistant at the state university in Skopje. Working on personal projects in the spare time and TP obviously :)

Thought you must have had a software back ground.

I am a student and a cashier. I also serve as a promoter for events and companies too.
Now known as Randy Derricott. I may sometimes use the DJ Ranz alias for certain projects though.

Nice, I so nearly went down the technical rout, I used to know loads about computers, I still do - I learned by breaking many as a child. 8-)

Erm, I do a number of things these days! My paid work is as a Support worker for adults with Learning Difficulties, my job is to promote their independence in the community and hopefully allow them to live a life without as much support. I have been doing that for a year and I quite enjoy it.

I also Volunteer for a Drugs Agency who work on the "Harm Reduction" module - Something I believe in so much and it really is a massive passion of mine. I try to get involved in as much as possible and am going to get more involved in the push for an end to prohibition. I also want to go and work out in South Africa, NJ who is a member on here is planning on doing some great work so I hope I can be a part of that in some way.

Then, this winter I set up my own charity called "positivity Bristol" our first project was a free clothing give away on Christmas eve and it was a huge success, quite proud of that although I felt distant from the "good feelings" it gave others, I guess that was because literally I had put so much of myself into it along with 2-3 other volunteers that it did just feel like a job at the time. But, I learned a lot and have other big plans - Our facebook page is here if you are interested :) http://www.facebook.com/pages/Positivity-Bristol/256954317688353

And that is it, I really need to condense what I do down though as I feel tired just reading that!

I work at a high quality printing company. Before I started at this company I did 10 years of Desktop Publishing, but now I'm at the beginning of the traject. Contact with clients, making prizes and guiding the work. I also guide the FSC certificate that we have of what I believe is pure bullshit, but just a marketing tool.

Besides my work, I'm raising my almost 3-year old daughter called Lucie, going to 10-12 trance events per year and I'm a quite fanatic fan of the mighty AFC Ajax. And Dexter is my favorite show.

Why do you feel that about the FSC?

First of all the administration is bullshit. Every little thing has to be printed out on paper (not neccesarily on FSC paper), having it digitally documented isn't enough. All this huge amount of uncontrolled paper we have to use for this, while it could be done in an much more evironment friendly way... But 90% of all paper we use in Europe is already FSC paper. Most paper we use is FSC Mix Credit, meaning that it's mixed with paper from an unknown source (like recycled pulp), but is theoratically seen as 100% FSC controlled. Even when it could be only 5%. And there are so many examples of stupid rules and bullshit things. The only reason we are FSC certified is cz a big client asked for it. We as a company feel that we have to think about the environment and everything, that's why we already use almost only FSC paper. We don't need FSC for that. PEFC is a much better certificate, but nobody cares about it, cz nobody knows about it. Why does everybody want FSC controlled wood/paper? Cz they had an excellent marketing strategy. People don't know what it exactly is. They just hear about FSC is good, so it has to be FSC.

Yes, a lot of trees need to be taken down for this. And that in the digital era... But many things FSC wants don't make any sense.

I myself do a few things here and there.

I work for Apple inc, and have so for 5 years. I am a Apple Certified Tech, and now a senior advisor in Apple Corporate.

I also run my own high line auto detailing business Aggressive Detailing. Since cars are a massive passion, this is one line of work that I love doing.

I have been a DJ of... goodness I think 13 years now..? I don't do much anymore as music has changed so much here in the States. Traditional DJs like me don't get too much work nowadays as they prefer to give it to the computer DJs who will play whatever the club owner wants and do it for cheap. Popular music as well is now all electro house & Dubstep and I can't stand the stuff and don't care how much you pay me, I will not play it LOL

Umm... thats it! :hp:
