Nope. Going to my best friend and his wife. Will probably be boring, but we'll see. Just have to drink a lot of Champagne I guess hehe.

I am DJing at a friend's new years eve party.  I live in a city where the only EDM that is popular is House and Electro.  That said, I will use what I call the "TRANCE TRAP".  Basically I will play a few electro and commercial trance songs ad slowly move into underground.  The reason why I call it the TRANCE TRAP is because by the time i shift to underground, they are too into the set to reject it.

You guys make your own fireworks, Remco?  How?  Here, everyone buys store bought fireworks.

Tomorrow I will post a 3 hour long set of 30 of my favorite tracks of 2008

I wish i could see a good Dj .. I am going to a Greek tavern with all my friends and i will be forced to listen to stupid greek folk music all night long AAAA! I hope there will be a lot of alcohol..

Nah, of course we buy it in the store. I meant we light it ourself. In many countries it's forbidden and only done by the state.

Because New year's eve is leading day of the year for DUIs in America, This commercial airs during the holiday season and other holidays too.

Yeah, New Year's is pretty sloppy lol.. Along with July 4th (Independence Day for America), it has to be the least sober and orderly day of the year. Well, maybe the Preakness in Baltimore in May each year slightly edges it. But still.

That said, many of the events going on are iffy. Lots of obnoxious people out and about trying too hard to have fun, it seems. I wouldn't discount something that wasn't an interesting electronic music event (knowing very few of those exist around here to begin with), but I'm not keen on the idea of clubbing in general on New Year's Eve. And this year, 2008, has been a very solemn year for me. It seems out of place to be celebrating when there are people I know who have not had a very good holiday at all.

and Remco that is a biiiiig tradition here to do the fireworks yourself or in teams :-) the people are partying and at 24:00 everyone goes outside and plays a bit with his fireworks :-) i wish youll see someday, its awesome, everywhere i look i see just colourful fireworks :-D

Yes here as well. All the streets of Holland are full with people after 24:00 drinking champagne and lighting their fireworks. The sky is colourfull, the air is one big curtain of smoke and the night is very noisy until at least 4Am haha. To be honest it can look like a total warzone! In my last house I was living a few levels higher and we could look over a big part of Den Haag (The Hague). Beautiful view

Im going to a friends house party, not doing the clubs tonight.  going be a ton of people showing up, everyone being liquor and food.  Including jerk chicken! We have a DJ line up as well, and this parties scheduled to go to 6pm tomorrow.  I hope everyone survey's.
