The summer season has officially closed down and so the end of another great year is in sight. Time to end 2009 with a blast, Armin van Buuren must have thought. The Dutch DJ/Producer is able to look back upon an eventful but more than successful year. The number one DJ won the award for Best International DJ at the DJ Awards, received 4 International Dance Music Awards and received more than 33 million views for his 'In & Out Of Love' music video on YouTube. But despite all awards, accolades and admiration, it's still the music that gives him the perseverance and inspiration to carry on in these times of pressure.

Once again, Armin didn't spent his time in the studio just by himself. After collaborations with Roger Shah, Chris Jones, Sharon den Adel and Jacqueline Govaert, it's now time for Dutch singer Roel van Velzen to impress us with his voice. VanVelzen has build a steady fan base after he hit in with 'Baby Get Higher' at the end of 2006. In the meanwhile, he's released a platinum debut album and eight successful singles, received four awards and made name as a singer/songwriter with a strong performance.     

The two of them had an inspiring time in the studio, with 'Broken Tonight' as the trancy result. VanVelzen's strong voice and sustained note in the break send shivers down your spine time after time, while Armin's maze of beats, rocky guitar loops and melodies will get you lost inside this dancefloor highlight.

I have to admit, I used to like Roel van Velzen the first couple of times I've seen him, long time before he even got famous in the Netherlands, about 10 years ago, when he was still just a singer/pianoplayer/entertainer in a bar in Scheveningen (Den Haag) called Crazy Pianos. That was in a period I was still into rock as well besides trance hehe. Van Velzen got famous here about 2 years ago, since I lost my interest in that genre I really don't like him anymore and neither do I like this track. An absolute miss from Armin here and it reminds me of the remix he did for Dutch rockband Racoon. After that I hoped he learned from it, but unfortunately he didn't.
Hope he won't do another one like this for at least the next couple of years again.

Terrible song and it's a travesty to call it trance. Armin looks even more hypocritical after giving DJ Sammy so much shit about how people called his stuff "trance" back in '04, but now Armin is the same thing but much worse and even more cheesy.

I am not big fan of vocal trance, but this one i really do like. Maybe because i can relate it's lyrics to my life, but, i was afraid it would be terrible, but after i heard it, i enjoyed it.

Dub and a remix and it will be a solid track maybe

lol, it is kinda weak, shoulda called racoon again and slowed down the beat, or wait, maybe make some real trance music, you know when you're not trying to convert mindless masses

Crap track with the vocal. Kinda redeems itself slightly with the instrumental mix, but it's still below average and nothing compared to Tuvan.

Looks like i am only one who likes this track so far

He didn't play this original version did he? I thought it sounded different, maybe the Sean Tyas remix?
