Ya gotta remeber that Trance was a Hybrid/Bastard child at one tme also (or at least I think), and it's still evolving. Rock and roll didn't start and end with the Beatles, Elvis, Rolling Stones, (and the Monkeys..lol). It continued to evolve!
Also, unfortunately the Arists have to pay the bills so they must at times modify their styles to fit the trends.
Just take a poll on this forum of the DJ's who absolutely love Trance but have to play house, hip hop, rap, and pop at their gigs. I bet there are quited a few, especially in the US. TheFrown had mentioned that at one time! SAD!!!
Are you referring to the Airscape Remix? How hard would it be to make your own dub version?
I meant both, the last part refers to Woods and earlier I mentioned the Airscape remix, both would be better off being their own productions
I remember there used to be software or filters/plugins that claimed they would dub a song, but i never had one work, so I guess its tricky at best
Sure all music is fundamentally evolutionary
But once a new genre is established and embraced I would prefer it stay true to its style, while new variations of this established style get their own distinction, rather than piggybacking the success of the main genre [Trance]
If it were up to me, vocal trance would be in a vocal section, and Melodic Trance would be near Classical music and Chillout music
I don't blame the artists really, but I do hate that it brings unappreciative outsiders into our true fanatics midst
DJs should always play what they want to, if you can't succeed at what you love, move somewhere you can
